Ashton Funk from Katy Texas, grandson of villagers Tom and Alexis Funk, has been an avid catch-and-release fisherman since he was a tyke. Ashton, and his Dad, recently came to the village for a long weekend visit and Aston caught this 68 pound Blue Catfish while fishing off the Funk's dock on Lake Balboa in Duck Bay at 7:30 pm on December 16, 2023. After releasing the fish back into the lake, Ashton turned and said "see grandpa, hotdogs still work great to catch fish".
