HSV Lakes Fishing Habitat Improvement - Spider Buckets
In an effort to improve the Quality and Quantity of fish species in our Village Lakes, the HSV Baitcasters and
Anglers Fishing Clubs are building and offering for sale to the public fish attractor bucket structures that we call Spider Buckets. These bucket structures attract the microorganisms in the water that supply food for minnows which in turn attracts bigger fish and also create cover for small fish to hide from bigger fish. The materials used are friendly to the environment, long lasting, and pose no hazard when properly placed in the lake.
The clubs are taking advantage of donated and recyclable materials in order to keep the costs low, and reducing landfill waste. Labor for construction is being donated by both clubs, as is help and information on placement in the lakes.
The fishing clubs coordinating with HSV Lakes Management to install these same habitats in multiple village lakes. These habitats are also available to HSV residents and can be placed in shallow water near your own dock or sea walls. They can also be placed in deeper lake waters per the Lakes Management habitat placement guidelines posted separately in the link below.
For non-fishing club members, the price for spider buckets are $15 each. All proceeds are re-invested in further development of fish structures and habitat in HSV lakes.
